POWER COHORT IV LAUNCHED

On 26th September 2025, Action 4 Health Uganda (A4HU), in partnership with Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW) and The Waterloo Foundation, launched the fourth cohort of the POWER (Providing Opportunities for Women in Entrepreneurship and Reproductive Health) program, welcoming 20 young women health innovators into its two-year accelerator initiative.

The launch ceremony, held at Makerere University School of Public Health auditorium, brought together government officials, development partners, and youth leaders to celebrate the new chapter of empowering women-led enterprises.

Speaking as the Guest of Honor, Mr. Patrick Mugisha, Commissioner of Business Development and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Trade, Industries, and Cooperatives, emphasized the importance of partnership, business registration, and licensing procedures as crucial steps toward sustainable and successful ventures

Ms. Sylvia Pimer, Youth Officer from the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, highlighted the significance of skilling young people as a pathway to economic well-being and resilience

Through POWER, young women innovators receive mentorship, training, and resources to transform their ideas into impactful businesses. The program is designed to shift participants from job seekers to solution providers, creating enterprises that address pressing reproductive health and development challenges while advancing women’s economic empowerment.
